BISSELL-ABG-GIANT to Compete in the Parx Casino Philly Cycling Classic

May 29, 2013 – Indianapolis

The BISSELL-ABG-GIANT cycling team is proud to announce that the team will compete in the Parx Casino Philly Cycling Classic, a UCI 1.2 road race, on June 2, 2013.

The Philly Cycling Classic has a storied history of nearly 30 years of racing in Philadelphia and was the US Professional championships from 1985 until 2005. Open to only a few select Domestic Elite teams in 2013, the race will see all North American-based professional cycling teams in addition to several European professional teams vie for the win. Featuring the start/finish at the top of the fabled Manayunk Wall, the Philly Cycling Classic will see the riders complete 10 laps of a 12 mile course for a total of 120 miles of racing.

BISSELL-ABG-GIANT will field a squad of eight riders: Nicolai Broechner, Graham Dewart, Jonathan Jacob, Josh Johnson, Weston Luzadder, Alex Vanias, Nathan Williams, and Alex Wieseler. This eight-rider squad has delivered numerous victories in 2013, includes the 2011 US National Elite Time Trial champion, two current US Collegiate National Cycling champions, and a member of the US contingent to the 2013 World Cyclocross Championships.

BISSELL-ABG-GIANT is a USA Cycling Domestic Elite roadcycling team based in Indianapolis, Ind. and Grand Rapids, Mich. Looking to the Future

BISSELL-ABG-GIANT is a Domestic Elite amateur team that is the official feeder to BISSELL Pro Cycling. The team resulted from the merger of the BISSELL Elite cycling team from Grand Rapids MI with the NUVO Cultural Trail cycling team from Indianapolis IN. The team includes former National Champions: Jon Jacob (Elite TT), Alex Wieseler (Collegiate TTT and Team Omnium) and Weston Luzadder (Collegiate TTT and Team Omnium). The team also fields at least 6 other former national champions in a variety of disciplines.
